Dead Drunk in Thailand
My book ‘Dead Drunk’ was released in Thailand a couple of weeks ago. It is a true story about my two decade struggle with alcohol abuse and how I finally found a solution in a Thai temple called Thamkrabok. In this book I’ve been completely open about my life. I hope this honesty can help other people. I entered my first treatment facility at twenty, and my alcoholism took me to the very edge of sanity. Before arriving at the temple I’d given up hope of recovery – a liver test had shown that death was a real possibility even though I was still in my mid-thirties.
Although the theme of this book is alcoholism it will likely resonate with anyone who has faced touch challenges in their life. My journey is proof that we all can get second chances and that it is never too late to turn your life around. At the end of my drinking I just wanted the pain to stop but I have received so much more than this – far more than I ever thought I deserved. If I can make this change then so can other people as well – I really believe that. We don’t have to end up in a gutter for our life to have taken a wrong turn, but we can always find our path again.
Dead Drunk was released in Ireland and the UK a couple of months ago and so far there has been a great response. You can find out more about this by visiting the Dead Drunk page here. There you will be able to see some of the TV and radio interviews I gave in Ireland and read some of the reviews given for the book. It is now available in English bookstores across Thailand, and you can also find it online in places like Amazon or direct from the Maverick House website.
Congratulations Paul, looking forward to reading the book, keep writing and living the dream, life is precious!
Thank you Leonard, it is appreciated.
