Interview with the Bangkok Podcast

I had the great pleasure of appearing on the Bangkok Podcast on Sunday. The hosts Tony and Greg were real gents who put me at ease. The topic was ‘inner demons’ and I discussed my addiction and how I eventually found release at Thamrkabok temple. The Bangkok Podcast is a great resource for anyone who is interested in Thailand. You can listen to this week’s edition from their website (click here) or direct from iTunes.

  1. Congratulations! Sorry I’m a little late but I listened to the Podcast the other day and thought it was great. (And I had no problem understanding your “Lucky Charms” accent 🙂

  2. Thank you Lani. I do worry that my ‘Orish” accent will be too much for people. Mind you, there are now quite a few Thai kids with Irish accents due to my 7 year stint as a teacher here – poor things 🙂

  3. Paul, I had a chance to listen to the podcast today. It was great! I think it’s really something that you put yourself out to the world like that.

  4. Hi Paul. I am a subscriber to the BKK Podcast, and very much enjoyed the episode with your interview. In fact, it inspired me to find your personal site (this one) and also subscribe to your own podcast (I’m a big podcast listener generally).

I am both a former BKK-expat and someone who has for many years struggled with alcohol abuse. I will be making my way through your podcasts, starting with the older ones first, and hope to learn more about your journey – which will hopefully inspire me to complete my own!

Please keep up the good work and know that your work and words are inspiring to others.

    1. Thank you Tan, I do hope that my journey can inspire others. When I was a drunk I needed to hear that there was a life away from that pain. Life in recovery can be so wonderful sometimes; there is no sense that I’m missing out on anything by not drinking alcohol. I wish you the best with your journey. I have found that my struggle with alcohol ended when I stopped fighting it; I just excused myself from the battle.

  5. Hey Tan, glad to hear that our podcast is helping you take action. Good luck in your journey and I’m sure Paul’s website can be a great resource to recovery.
