Dead Drunk to be Released in eBook Format

Maverick House is to release Dead Drunk as an eBook within the next couple of weeks. I’m delighted with this news because the eBook market is now so huge; last month sales in this format outsold paperbacks for the first time.

I’ve owned an eBook reader for about a year now, but it was my recent purchase of an iPad that fully swayed me to this format. The iPad is just so user friendly and books just look great on it. I expect to still buy paperbacks from time to time, but I imagine I’ll be doing most of my reading in the electronic format from here on in.

The reaction to Dead Drunk continues to be the source of a lot of happiness in my life. The book has been available in paperback for over six months, but there is still a lot of interest in it. I’m convinced that there is an important message of hope and second-chances to be found in my tale, and the response by those who have read the book already has further convinced me of this. I want as many people as possible to read my story so I’m hoping that the eBook will introduce it to a new audience

If you haven’t yet read Dead Drunk then why not give the eBook a try? As soon as I have the details of the release I’ll make a further announcement and provide a link to the ebook. In the meantime you can find out more about what it is all about by clicking on the links below –

  1. Congrats Paul! Ebooks are a great way to go. So is Kindle – Kindle for the Mac is doable. Kindle for iPhone is annoying for anything except resource type books, but on the Mac it’s a breeze.

    1. Hi Catherine, I felt a bit sceptical when the Kindle first appeared because for a long time I didn’t really enjoy reading books in electronic format. I would still choose a paperback over my old eBook Reader, but with the iPad I’ve no problem reading from it all day. I’ve read books on my Ipod Touch, but only in a pinch – the screen is just too small. I also turned my PSP into an eBook reader a few years ago, but that was even less user friendly than the Ipod touch.

  2. Paul, my first preference is hardcopy over anything. But some books are logical on an iPhone – Thai grammar books for one, travel books for another. I have a small MacBook Pro (first time experience) and it’s brilliant for reading books using the Kindle software – I much prefer Kindle to Adobe Acrobat. But I won’t buy the Kindle hardware because it only does one thing – read books – and I have enough contraptions as it is… in saying that… I would like the new iPad for my birthday. Not sure it’s going to happen, but the wish is there.

    1. Warning – if you are going to buy the iPad make sure you clear your calendar for a week. Honestly, you probably won’t want to put it down. It has been a huge distraction these last few days. I may have to ask my wife to confiscate it during the day 🙂

  3. Congratulations Paul and I hope Dead Drunk gets lots of Ebook sales for you. I have only ever purchased one Ebook before and that was written by Lawrence from Thai Life in Phana.

  4. Congrats to your continued success with “Dead Drunk”. I trust the eBook will be enjoyed by many people all over the world. Way to go!

If you don’t have “Alice for the iPad” yet, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gew68Qj5kxw. It’s a short video demo of the great classic, remade for the iPad, that shows where books are headed when they fully take advantage of the iPad’s capabilities.

    1. That looks fantastic Claudio – my son will love it. I’ve only had it a couple of weeks but already my son’s apps are taking over. I downloaded the free Toy Story app and that was superb, but this Alice for iPad looks even better. I’m sure my son will thank you 🙂
